The body of this beautiful Canada Goose is carved from a single 12 by 12 inch American chestnut beam. The head was carved separately. Oh, the history behind the wood is truly something we'd love to know. This beam was probably used in the framing of a barn built many years ago with I'm sure so many stories to tell. You just don't find wood like this anymore, especially American chestnut.
