A trio of blackbirds perched on a large portion of watermelon, two of them have a lot to say about nothing and the one in the middle is just wishing they would both go away! Hand carved from American chestnut the watermelon was cut from a 4 inch beam, a really nice and rare piece of chestnut wood. The expression on the blackbirds is so human-like, I don't know how Peter does it but he surely knows how to bring his beloved chestnut wood to life! The blackbird's feet are made from copper wire and some secret stuff, all hand made by the artist.
